This is especially useful when chunks of information need to be provided helps the learner take in information in individual bits.
There are five different 'Select to Reveal' page types:
Image Explorer with Pop-ups
Image Grid with Pop-ups
The Accordion page type is great for breaking up large chunks of text based content.
The Accordion has buttons the learner can click to expand. This then reveals a panel below which can have text and images in it.
To add additional Accordion tabs, press the '+ Add Accordion' button when in Author mode -
Any new Accordion tabs will be added after the last existing tab.
You can delete individual tabs that you don't need by opening the editing options of the relevant part in Author mode and pressing 'Yes - delete' here -
To edit the contents of the individual panels you will need to open them first -
Image Explorer with Pop-ups
Pop-up page types split your information down into smaller chunks which greatly helps your learner to take in information.
With the Image Explorer page type, the learner can click on buttons or areas that are placed on an image to open up pop-ups with more information.
You can add Hotspot areas and buttons in Author mode by pressing the '+ Hotspot Area' and '+ Hotspot Button' icons -
To delete a Hotspot area or button, click on the pencil icon in the top right of the part and select Delete and confirm 'Yes - delete' -
Image Grid with Pop-ups
This page type is also very useful for splitting your information down into smaller parts and can help the Learner to take in information.
With this page type, the learner can click on image boxes which will open up a pop up.
You can add additional image cards to the grid in Author by pressing the blue '+ Add Hotspot' button in the top right corner of the grid -
Any new Image cards will be added after the last existing Image card.
To delete an Image card, click on the pencil icon in the top right of the part and select Delete and confirm 'Yes - delete' -
💡 Pro Tip! - You can change the Items that are shown per row in the different View Modes by opening the editing options for the whole grid and changing the 'Items per row' in the Variations settings -
In this example you can see that in Tablet view, only two items are displayed per row -
💡 Pro Tip! This page type is best used for instances where multiple cards in a grid is required. If you'd like to add a single part here, you can use the 'Image Card with Hotspot Launcher' part instead which can be added directly to your page in 'Layout'.
The Tabs page type is great for breaking up large chunks of text based content.
Like the Accordion, Tabs have buttons which, when clicked, reveal a panel that contains text and images.
You can add additional Tabs in Author by pressing the blue '+ Add Tab' button in the top right corner of the grid -
The new Tab will always be added after the last Tab -
To delete a Tab, click on the pencil icon in the top right of the part and select Delete and confirm 'Yes - delete' -
After saving this, you will need to refresh the page for the change to become visible on the page.
💡 Pro Tip! In the 'Interactions' section in Layout, you can find additional variations of this part. Here you can choose between Tabs (Left), Tabs (Top) or Tabs (Right) -
The Flipcard Grid page type is a great tool for memorisation.
A Flipcard has a front side and a back side.
The front side of a Flipcard has an image container, a title field and a Flip button. The back side has a text box and Flip button,
Selecting the 'Flip' button will flip the card over, revealing its other side.
To edit the back content of the Flipcard you need to flip it to the other side first.
When a Flipcard page is created, you'll have three Flipcards arranged in a grid. You can then add extra Flipcards to the grid by selecting '+ Add Flipcard'
or remove ones you don't need by opening up the Flipcard's edit menu and selecting Delete
You can control how the Flipcards appear by opening the Flipcard Grid container's edit menu
The Variations tab has options to hide or show the image in your Flipcards. This is useful if you want 'text-only' Flipcards
You can also arrange the number of items per row. You can have a maximum of 3 Flipcards in each row
You can also control how they stack on smaller screens. For example, setting 'Items per row on Tablet' to '2' will cause the grid to re-arrange to two cards per row in Tablet-sized screens or smaller.
Flipcards will responsively resize depending on the amount of content inside them.
You can also change the height of the image container using this control here
Your Flipcards' appearance is determined by your Project's Style but if you'd like to make direct changes to the Flipcards appearance, you can do so here
💡 Pro Tip! When changes are made to the individual parts of the Accordion, Image Explorer, Image Grid or Tabs in Layout these will be applied to each of them.
For example, if you add an additional Image part into the first Carousel slide in Layout designer, an Image will be added to all of the Carousel Slides. Therefore, if you only want this part to be in the first slide, you would need to add it in Layout designer first and then delete the parts from the individual slides where in Author mode.
